Read the Introduction and Part One, chapters 2 and 3, of the book by Yochai Benkler:
The Wealth of Networks for general discussion.
Assignment for February 7
Review Yochai Benkler's talk entitled: "Is Policy the future of the Internet?" found at:University Computer and Law Program.
Each student should also choose one policy issue from Benkler's work, for example, social networking or peer production (just examples!) to discuss individually in a 5 minute presentation highlighting the "winners" and "losers" in such a policy decision.
