1. Regular affiliation with the IS major as a current student in Arts and Sciences

• Arts and Sciences students interested in affiliating with the Information Science major should fill out the affiliation forms and turn them in to 303 Upson Hall.
• In order to affiliate with the IS major, students must meet the criteria for admission to the major.

2. Internal transfer from another Cornell college to Arts and Sciences -IS

• Non-Arts and Sciences students who want to transfer from another college at Cornell in order to major in Information Science in Arts and Sciences should visit the Arts and Sciences internal transfer website.


Note: Students who transfer to Arts & Sciences from other Cornell colleges must complete a minimum of four semesters of on-campus residency in Arts & Sciences following transfer.

In addition:

• Inform current advisor of intent to transfer, and contact the Undergraduate Coordinator in Information Science at major@infosci.cornell.edu
• In order to affiliate with the IS major, students must meet the criteria for admission to the major.
• If accepted by Arts and Sciences, you will need to fill out affiliation forms to formally register for the major.

3. External transfer from an institution outside of Cornell to Arts and Sciences-IS

• Visit the Cornell transfer admission website.
• If you would like to transfer credit from another institution, refer to the Arts and Sciences transfer credit website.
• If accepted by Arts and Sciences, you will need to fill out affiliation forms to formally register for the major.
• It is generally expected that students requesting affiliation with the IS major meet the criteria for admission to the major.

Note:
Admission to the Information Science major in Arts and Sciences is highly competitive and only highly qualified candidates will be seriously considered.
