Honors Requirements
College of Engineering, ISST Major
For students entering Cornell Fall 2004 or after:
- cumulative GPA = 3.5
- Four credit hours of ISST graded course work at least at the 500-level (graded courses only; no seminars or two-credit project courses).
500- or 600-level courses taken to fulfill the honors requirement may not be counted toward fulfillment of the primary or associated option
requirements.*
- Six credit hours of INFO 490 Independent Study and Research with an ISST faculty member, spread over two semesters, with a grade of at
least an A- in each of the two semesters.
Or:
Three credit hours of INFO 490 with an ISST faculty member and three credit hours of INFO 491 Teaching Experience,
both with grades of at least A-.
Note: It is expected that the INFO 490 research will result in either a programming project and/or a written report.
*When registering for dually numbered courses (e.g. 300/500 or 400/500 level), undergraduate students must enroll for the 300 or 400 level option. As a result, dually numbered courses
will not count towards fulfillment of the 500 or 600 level requirement.
For students entering Cornell before Fall 2004:
- cumulative GPA = 3.5
- Eight credit hours of ISST graded course work at least at the 500-level (graded courses only; no seminars or two-credit project courses).
